HouseCat
Addressing threats to displacement by proactively informing affordable housing preservation efforts
Affordable housing is a growing issue of importance in our community. HouseCat was developed for the Housing Preservation Working Group so that members and other affordable housing advocates can view near real time data about deed and income-restricted housing in Allegheny County. Data about subsidized housing in HouseCat integrates data from 20 different datasets provided by HUD, the Pennsylvania Housing Agency, and the Federal Home Loan Bank. Users of HouseCat are also able to proactively filter the data to identify threats to affordability, which can include contract expiration, loss of subsidy due to poor housing conditions, sale, and foreclosure.
Users must apply to the Housing Preservation Working Group for access to HouseCat.
